He was a pioneering Indian Filmmaker, hailed as the “Father of Indian cinema”. His debut film, Raja Harishchandra, released in 1913, was India’s first full-length feature film. Over 19 years, he directed 95 feature films and 27 short films. The most prestigious Award; Dadasaheb Phalke Award says everything about his contribution.

Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, the visionary founder of MAEER's MIT, established the Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT-WPU) in 1983, promoting 'Value-based Universal Education' for students' holistic growth. Mr. Ganesh. B. Pokale has a comprehensive understanding of the nuances of higher education and is skilled in academic administration. His interest areas are outcome-based education, process design & development, process excellence, academic credit, learning technology, and assessments to address high-order learning skills. He has also been instrumental in designing and implementing university ERP and learning management systems for academic quality assurance. He is an alumnus of COEP (College of Engineering Pune) and has a versatile experience in both academia and industry. His exposure to the international environment has further reformed his understanding of global best practices, trends, and technologies. Currently, he serves as the Registrar at MIT-World Peace University. He has a strong focus on service orientation while being a technology drive administrator.
